Job Notification

As part of the regulations, all notifiable work must be advised to the relevant building control department within 30 days of completion.

Currently there are only two ways that notifications can be made. The first is via building control if they have been requested to assess the work directly by a consumer, the other is via your scheme operator.

To be able to notify jobs through this website, you must first register online with us. You will find the link for this on the home page.  You will need your registration certificate number and password to start the registration process. These will have been sent to you in the post upon successful completion of your assessment. To complete the process you will need to create your security questions and fill in your contact details.

Before you can start to submit jobs you will have to purchase some credits. You can obtain these via the credit card purchase option or you can complete the Direct Debit mandate that you will have been sent in your welcome pack.  If you decide to pay by Direct Debit, we will collect a payment every month and advise you in advance of how much we will be collecting, as the amount will vary depending on the number of jobs submitted.

The mandatory information that you need to enter to satisfy Building Control requirements are as follows:

Full postal address

This is obtained by entering the postcode and house name or number. Please note there is a separate procedure for 'new builds' for which postcodes may not yet have been allocated.

Description of work carried out

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has created the lists you must select from.  Please choose the the description best fitting the type of work.

Contract end date

This is required to ensure you have submitted notification within 30 days of completion.

Additional information

You must enter a recipient name to send the compliance certificate to. You will also have the option to send a compliance certificate to an alternative address to that of where the work was carried out. This allows you to send certificates to landlords rather than the tenant, for instance.

You also have the option to enter further details on the job, which is entirely up to you as it may aid your record keeping.

Your welcome pack will contain further advice on how to use the job registration system, so please refer to that if you have any queries over its usage.

The job registration site will also allow you to look at any job historically as well as review any payments that you have made.

Finally, there is a downloads section, located in the Maintenance area, which contains a number of other useful documents, from specimen contracts to downloadable logos.
