Who are EC Certification and ECA?

EC Certification Ltd are an independent third party Certification Body owned by the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA).  We operate competent persons schemes to enable contractors to self certify domestic electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations and electrical energy efficiency work under Part L of the Building Regulations.

EC Certification purchased the BRE Global Part P scheme that had been operating in partnership with the ECA in April 2008. 

The ECA has represented member firms for over 100 years and currently has over 2000 members who carry out the greater part of all the recorded electrical installation work in the UK.  The ECA also owns and operates the ELECSA Part P scheme.
